Step Three - Approval Process
After we receive your new chapter request, you may receive a follow-up communication to verify your chapter details, course offerings, and to ensure compliance with WV DECA Bylaws for both you as an advisor and your students. In the interim, we suggest reviewing the Chapter Advisor Handbook for insights into your advisor role, effective strategies for membership recruitment and leadership development, and details about DECA's Comprehensive Learning Program. |
Step Four - Let's Get Started!
Once approved, you and your students will be fully integrated into DECA. Your District Director will keep you informed about local activities throughout the year. Expect an email from National DECA's New Advisor Coordinator and receive a new chapter packet by mail, containing essential resources such as the DECA Guide, Competitive Events posters, and Join/Membership materials. You'll also be added to our Statewide and District distribution lists to stay updated on all the exciting happenings across the state. Advisor Tip: Generate enthusiasm among your students by watching the Membership Video together. |
