Competitive Events Program

A vital aspect of a student's  DECA experience is participation in DECA's competitive events program. These events are designed to apply learning, establish connections to the business world, and directly contribute to every student's readiness for college or career by focusing on the following outcomes:

ACADEMICALLY PREPARED
DECA's competitive events offer members an opportunity to showcase National Curriculum Standards through individual or team activities. They also enable participants to cultivate and utilize essential skills such as analysis, application of knowledge, creative problem-solving, and logical presentation.

COMMUNITY ORIENTED
DECA's competitive events empower members to explore their communities, engage in collaborative environments, and acknowledge their responsibility to contribute to the community.

PROFESSIONALLY RESPONSIBLE
DECA's competitive events foster the development of ethics, integrity, and high standards among members. They encourage individuals to take responsibility for self-improvement and self-discipline.

EXPERIENCED LEADERS
DECA's competitive events offer constructive avenues for team expression, initiative, and creativity. Students initially participate at the local level in early March, with winners advancing to the national competition in April.
